As people’s health and environmental concerns continue to increase, environmentally friendly flame retardants that are less harmful to human health and environmentally friendly will become the direction of future flame retardant development. Environmentally friendly flame retardants must meet three conditions: A. Non-PBT (PBT: Persistent, Bio-accumulative and Toxic) substances,  B. Zinc Borate is a good flowing, readily dispersal, high whiteness powder, it is slightly soluble in water,but soluble in acid solution.
ZB is mainly used as fire retardant in plastics and rubber, and can be dispersed into wood or wood plastics composites, coating systems as a corrosion inhibitor and fungicide.  Also used as fertilizer or ceramic frit. I t is mainly used in the products that need good distribution, such as high grade Wire and cable, fiber, anti corrosion in coating etc applications.

Shandong Xinwang New Materials Co., Ltd. specializing in the production of zinc borate, our factory also finished the REACH registration at 2016.
Application of zinc borate:
· It is primary used for cellulose fibers, Fertilizers, textiles, paints, papers, pigments, rubbers and adhesives as well.
· The chemical is competent of replacing antimony trioxide as a synergist in both systems whether they are halogen based or halogen free.
· The product is also used as a fire retardant in PVC, polyolefins, elastomers, polyamides, and epoxy resins.

Zinc Borate is one multi-functional synergistic flame retardant with Antimony Oxide etc additives in polymers to improve flame retardant performance, it can reduce smoke evolution and adjust the balance of flame retardant properties versus mechanical, electrical and other properties.

Zinc Borate is widely used in PVC applications such as carpet, conveyor belt, wire and cable, and in Nylon, PE, PP etc engineering plastics of halogen free flame retardant systems based on Al(OH)3 and Mg(OH)2, intumescent coating and painting, ceramic glaze, milk glass, decorative paper etc fields.

Zinc Borate is also used in wood composite as fungicide to prevent from decay fungi and subterranean termites.

There are several classes of flame retardants; Halogenated Hydrocarbons (Chlorine and Bromine containing compounds and reactive flame retardants), Inorganic flame retardants ( Boron compounds, Antimony oxides, Aluminium Hydroxide, molybdenum compounds, zinc and magnesium oxides ), Phosphorous containing compounds (Organic phosphate esters, phosphates, halogenated phosphorus compounds and inorganic phosphorus containing salts).
